Study Bergen invites students on a fantastic adventure on Juklavass glacier Saturday September the 30th.

Guides from Folgefonni Breførarlag will take us on a hike on Juklavass glacier, which is part of the mighty Folgefonna glacier, Norway's third largest inland glacier. Nature is the focus for this trip, so anyone who is generally in good health should be able to complete this hike. You do not need to have experience with ice hiking.

Places are limitied and are expected to be in high demand for this trip. Don't postpone signing up if you want to join the trip.

*Times are approximate due to traffic and weather conditions

Time on the ice is between 5-6 hours, depending on the group.

Should weather conditions on the day of the event preclude activities on the glacier, an alternative route through Bondhusdalen to the glacier will be chosen. This will entail no activity on the glacier itself. Please note that tickets will not be refunded nor partly reimbursed should this change incur. Folgefonni Breførarlag decides the route, and their route decision is final to ensure the safety of participants.

The guiding company provides the necessary ice-hiking equipment (including ice-picks, crampons, helmets, ropes etc). If you do not have mountain boots, you may borrow a pair from the glacier guiding company,  (sizes available 33- 48). This is free of charge.
Clothes are not avaiable for rental. Wind-chill on the glacier is high so it is very important you dress appropriately.

You will need the following:
- wool/fleece layers
- wind and waterproof jacket and trousers.
- hat, scarf, gloves/mittens
- woolen socks + ekstra socks
- sunglasses and sunblock/lotion
- trousers which are NOT jeans - eg jogging/training
- a rucksack
